Monday Mercies

Here's the deal. Will you take a rain check on Monday Mercies? I am so sick that I cannot possibly think of anything to write except that I feel really bad. I've got some sort of head/chest crud. Glamorous! I am contemplating changing the look of the blog, so bear with me. You just might see some changes coming. Until I post again, check out these very awesome sites: www.crosspt.cc www.beholdministries.com The first is the church I attend. We own no building. Church is the living, breathing, organic body of Christ in the community. A lot of people don't understand. You must come check it out and you will see! It's unreal and on fire for Jesus! The second is a youth ministry that my family is passionate about. We see God work in the lives of around 1000 teens each year at the weekend retreat. I'm going to find my Kleenex and blanket. May God bless us all today! ~Paige

The Lemonade Award

Many thanks to Shirley over at Alabama Times for passing the Lemonade Award to me! 2008 did give my family a few lemons, but we are trying to make lemonade! I am passing this award to: Shirley - Yes, I know you passed it to me, but I must pass it back. I am encouraged by your strength as you wait for your house to be finished. God speed on that! Heidi - your posts are challenging, humbling, and inspiring. Thank you for letting God use you! Laura - she has made multiple pitchers of lemonade! Keep trusting Him! Dana - another testament that lemons can be turned into sweet lemonade when God is doing His thing. Enjoy your award, girls, and thank you for sharing your heart with us out here in the blog world! ~Paige

My boys

My hubbs is the man. My son is the bomb. They are the best things next to my Salvation I could have ever been given. I love them more than my every breath. They are my every breath. Just felt the need to say that.

Beautiful - For Women

http://www.newspring.cc/series/beautiful Must go to this site and watch this series. Perry Noble is awesome! I wasn't convinced that he could pull off the first sermon in the series, because he's a guy, but he knocked it out of the park! Ladies, you MUST listen to this. It will change you!

Behold

As I write this, I am sitting in a campground out in the middle of nowhere. My surroundings are magnificent. A true testament to the artistry and imagination of our divine Creator. I am not what you would call an "outdoors" type. I am a girly-girl and don't necessarily like to hunt or fish or camp like that on a regular basis. However, I enjoy being in the middle of nature. I love to hear God sing and whisper over me as the pine trees sway and the gentle breeze sweeps across my face. It's been bitter cold this weekend, but even the cold has made me thankful for the sun! I am here because of a youth camp that takes place every year at this time. A year of planning and prayer and hard work culminates in about 1000 people making their way to this place and spending the weekend searching for God, hearing about him, feeling his love, meeting new people, experiencing new things, and worshipping the Most High. This event is designed for teenagers. I have a heart fo

Monday Mercies

In an old journal recently, I ran across some notes I wrote for a talk I gave at a Christian ladies event. I was inspired by (my own!) notes (given to me by God of course!) and thought maybe someone else could be inspired too. The whole topic of the talk was about leaving your legacy. No matter if you are a mother, daughter, sister, wife, or friend - we are all Daughters of the King. And we all leave a legacy. "For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing". - 2 Timothy 4:6-8 So here are some random notes/quotes I made. I don't know exactly who to attribute them to. I just scribbled them down in my journal: ~ How you live and what you live for and h

Family Addition

So last night we just happened to stop by Petsmart to see the kitties and there was the cutest little 2 month old black kitten there. I know the hubbs was amused by the pitiful looks on the face of the mommy and the boy. But he wasn't sure about us adopting this little kitty until we knew how he would get along with our 1 1/2 year old orange tabby who is affectionately named Tiger/Carl/Milo, but answers to "Kitty". So the hubbs went home and got the big kitty and brought him back to Petsmart on a leash with a collar. Yes, we got a few stares. I mean, there are dogs in there all the time, but how many people bring their cats in? And on a leash? (In our defense we didn't want the cat to get loose since he's a house cat and only gets out to go to the vet). I realized that we had become....the cat people. And then I laughed out loud, cause, well, it was funny. So, we soon discovered that big kitty wouldn't try to torment little kitty too much and, much to

Diabetes Update

Here are a couple of updates for those of you who keep up. 1. The pump is ordered and will be here next Monday!!! Then we head next week to Children's so they can teach us how to use it. I am excited and scared at the same time. Luckily grandparents and an aunt will get to go with us to the training and learn along with us. This may come in handy at a great ministry weekend that will be coming up right after we go "live" on the pump. 2. Talked with my mom today who talked with a patient who lost his 19 year old daughter last year due to a stroke. She also had diabetes. This shook my mom up pretty good. I knew I shouldn't have asked her what the age of the daughter was, but I did. 19 years old! My breath escapes me as I contemplate the pain and heartache this father must feel. But I know that I can't live everyday waiting for the other shoe to fall regarding the boy's diabetes. We must live life to the fullest! 3. Watched a documentary about eatin

ReThinking Things - Monday Mercies

Happy New Year to you! I took a bit of a break during the holidays as so many of you did. It was nice to relax and spend a wonderful few days with family. We had three family get-togethers in addition to Santa coming. They were all wonderful and it's so nice to be with each other and celebrate each other. Makes me realize that we don't do that often enough. I just know that this year will continue to bring new growth and changes to our home. 2008 was a crazy year and a hard year. The hubbs told me it was so hard for us because we were obedient and God had called us to step out in several areas. Whew! Obedience is hard! At our church we are just starting a new series called ReThink. I encourage all of you to go here and check it out. You can even do church online on Sundays as we stream live. Hey, God is God of all things good and the Internet can be used by God to do ministry. I am excited to see what God will do through our church this year. We are new to the ch
