Monday Mercies

In an old journal recently, I ran across some notes I wrote for a talk I gave at a Christian ladies event. I was inspired by (my own!) notes (given to me by God of course!) and thought maybe someone else could be inspired too. The whole topic of the talk was about leaving your legacy. No matter if you are a mother, daughter, sister, wife, or friend - we are all Daughters of the King. And we all leave a legacy.

"For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing". - 2 Timothy 4:6-8

So here are some random notes/quotes I made. I don't know exactly who to attribute them to. I just scribbled them down in my journal:

~ How you live and what you live for and how you invest your life is your legacy.

~ Leaving the best parts of Christ in you for others to experience (this was a fragment, but I thought I would include it as it provokes some pondering).

~There is always someone watching. There is always someone following.

~Pass on what you have received from someone else.

~Reputation is what you try to live up to. Character is what you are.

~Reputation is made in a moment. Character is built in a lifetime.

As the train for 2009 starts on the track, may I remember that I am leaving my legacy. And may it be scented with the aroma of Christ.

Happy Monday,
~Paige

What a wonderful message. It's certainly one I think we all should really sit and think and pray on.
