Monday Mercies #1 -11/10/08

Good morning! Today is our first "Monday Mercies". Thanks to the hubbs for getting our really cool button up on the site. In the next few days you should be able to come back to the site and if you wish, put the "Monday Mercies" button on your page. Here's our first "Monday Mercies"!

You Never Let Go

Yesterday we had a wonderful worship experience at Crosspoint. Our pastor delivered a strong message. One that inspired someone who was with me to dig back into her Bible. She said "I used to know lots about the Bible, but I don't remember anymore". She left the worship time energized and ready to get back into the awesomeness of God's Living Word!

The worship band is really awesome. I love the songs they choose each week. We sang a song by Matt Redman called "You Never Let Go". The words just washed over me as I sang.

Sometimes I wonder why people are going through the things they are. Just in the last couple of years in my personal family we have experienced the death of a close loved one, births of four beautiful healthy babies, two babies born prematurely and struggling for life, losses of jobs and marriages, new families formed, struggles with anxiety and depression, scares of major spinal issues, diagnoses of diabetes, mini-strokes, learning diabilities, a grandfather who literally died and then was revived to cheat death yet one more time, a three year battle (and eventually a victory) with cancer, and so many more issues.

Does your life resemble that in anyway? I bet it does. And if your like me, then sometimes you just tend to want to buckle under all that...well....stress and trouble.

But God is so good and is constantly reminding me that He has hold of me and He won't let go! His world tell us:

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" - Philippians 4:13

"Whoever loses their life for my sake will find it" - Matthew 10:39

I want to share the words of the song from yesterday with you. To encourage you. To encourage me. Someone very dear to me told me today that she feels some days like HumptyDumpty and one more thing will just be what causes her to not be able to put back together again. Do you ever feel that way? I know I do. But she and I agreed together that we are believing God for all that He is and can do! For He is amazing! So, I will end our first Monday Mercies with the words of this song by Matt Redman. I hope they will give you encouragement today. See you next week!

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back
I know You are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

Chorus:
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

This post was meant for me. Thank you!!! You've read my sob story posts, and I appreciate your kind comment and prayers.

This week, I have begun to make a wonderful change in my life by sitting down with Sissy and reading from the Bible (Philippians) each night.

Thank you, again.
